Founded in 1954 by parents who believed their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) deserved to be included in their communities and to pursue fulfillment and happiness, The Arc Rockland has spent seven decades fostering an inclusive community in Rockland County.
On September 30th, the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge was illuminated in orange, symbolizing how far we’ve come and our ongoing commitment to continuing this essential work. The color orange, which embodies the embracing and determined spirit of The Arc, is a powerful representation of our ongoing mission. The lighting serves as a captivating metaphor for our journey and the progress we strive for every day.
A special thank you to Flying Films NY and Vinny Garrison for the breathtaking drone footage and photos that captured this memorable event. Vinny’s video expressed a heartfelt and sentimental message, sharing his personal connection to The Arc Rockland—his Uncle Tommy had received services from The Arc Rockland for 36 years.
