Overview
The Arc Rockland provides Day Habilitation services to adults with developmental disabilities at six locations in Rockland County. Our services are designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. These services are tailored to the needs, preferences and interests of each person, and include activities such as skill development, community integration, socialization, recreation and wellness. Person centered day habilitation services are provided in a safe and supportive environment by qualified staff who respect the dignity and rights of each individual.
Day Habilitation services are designed to help people of all ages with developmental disabilities to develop and maintain skills, abilities, and interests while being active members of their communities. In the course of a week participants might participate in fitness classes at a local gym, use the agency’s therapeutic pool, participate in music classes, engage in technology instruction or arts and crafts activities. Many day habilitation groups also volunteer with local non profit organizations, attend sporting or cultural events, and explore other community activities in Rockland County. Day Habilitation services aim to promote the dignity, independence, and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in their communities.
At The Arc Rockland, we prioritize individual needs and aspirations. Whether it’s community involvement, pre-employment training, pursuing higher education, or engaging in volunteer work, we put each person’s goals and dreams first. Join us as we support individuals in living life to the fullest and fostering a sense of belonging within the community.
