Position Title: Speech and Language Pathologist

Location: Clinic

Salary: $38-$41/hour; $79,040-$85,280 annual

POSITION SUMMARY: (Essential Functions of Position)

The Speech and Language Pathologist serves as a member of the clinical team. He/she provides diagnostic assessment and appropriate intervention within their scope of practice. They will also supervise students-in-training.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree accredited by the council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology & Speech and Language Pathology.

Minimum Experience:

  • Applicants with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):

  • Must be able to perform CPR. Demonstrated knowledge of and independence in the use of varied treatment approaches. Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality. Communicate effectively verbally in writing. Perform strenuous physical activities. Travel to various treatment locations/satellite sites. Engage individual / family/ guardian effectively and openly in treatment planning.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • New York State Department of Education licensure and registration.

Corporate Compliance:

  • Employees must comply with agency or governing body rules, regulations and policies and procedures.  Employees who witness or learn about a violation or possible violation of agency or governing body rules, regulations or policies and procedures is required to immediately report this to their supervisor or the agency’s corporate compliance officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS    
1 Maintains NYS licensure by completing the required CEU’s.  
2 Carries out medically prescribed treatments by delivering individualized therapy services to patients in accordance with their established treatment plan.  
3 Maintains records of Speech Therapy for each program participant receiving Speech services. Completes daily notes and treatment plans (Semi-Annual and Annual) and recommends therapeutic changes as appropriate.  
4 Collaborates and communicates frequently with patient’s Care Team (ie: Residence, family, other members of clinical team, day program) to ensure quality of care and carryover. This may include attending Life Plan meetings and Intake meetings.  
5 Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area.  
6 Develop initial treatment plan detailing the person’s individualized therapy goals and update periodically, as per regulations.  
7. Work collaboratively as part of the clinical team. Attend meetings and share ideas regarding treatment as appropriate.  
8 Participates in in-service education and training programs. Attend Clinical Team meetings as needed.  
9 Has ability to utilize different frames of reference for treatment as needed (i.e.: Developmental, Neurodevelopmental, Cognitive disabilities, Sensory integration).  
10 Is familiar with the regulations, policies and procedures of clinic. Adhere to all HIPAA related policies and procedures safeguarding the protected health information (“PHI”) of all patients.  
11. Submits billing for service rendered promptly. Choose the most appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
