The Arc Rockland is part of The Arc US, the nation’s oldest and largest organization for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD). For 70 years, we have worked to promote and protect the human rights of individuals in Rockland County with IDD and their families by offering programs, services, advocacy, and valuable resources.
Companies, organizations, and institutions can partner with The Arc Rockland to help meet our shared goals. Program Priorities
Community Services
The Arc Rockland individuals participate in a wide variety of on-site and community-based activities. These include skill building, job development and placement, socialization, recreation, volunteering, experiential learning, health & wellness, self-advocacy, and arts & culture.
Workforce Retention & Recruitment
Over 600 staff members provide exceptional care for The Arc Rockland individuals. Due to several factors, our industry is facing a workforce crisis. In 2024, we are launching a robust strategy that will strengthen our labor force and create meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Residential Living
The Arc Rockland’s 31 homes provide supportive and collaborative living environments for groups of individuals whose ages, interests, and levels of ability are similar. These homes are located throughout Rockland County, integrated into neighborhoods and downtown areas.
Hudson Valley Comprehensive Healthcare
This clinic was founded over 20 years ago to provide quality and compassionate health care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD). Now, Hudson Valley Comprehensive Healthcare welcomes the entire community, including seniors and patients with mobility challenges, in a fully-accessible setting.
Events to Engage in the Community and Build Your Brand
Harold Peterson Memorial Golf Classic
- Our Golf outing is in it’s 39th year with this being the second year it has been named after a long time Co-chair Harold Peterson.
- It is held at Paramount Country Club, a private country club located in New City, NY, on the site of Mountain View Farm, the former home of Paramount Pictures founder Adolph Zukor. It features an 18-hole golf course designed by golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast.
- Golf Registration includes breakfast, greens fees, cart, gift, on-course BBQ lunch, contests, cocktail and dinner reception with open bar, awards ceremony, and prizes!
- Pickleball Registration includes court fees, court side snacks and beverages, cocktail and dinner reception with open bar, awards ceremony, and prizes!
- Cocktail and Dinner Reception Guests include dinner with open bar, awards ceremony and prizes!
Summer Leadership Institute
- Our summer professional development and executive networking event
- Attendees: Executives, board members, and senior staff from chapters of The Arc and similar agencies
- Number of attendees: approximately 200
Step Up for The Arc Rockland Walk
The walk brings together multiple constituents of The Arc Rockland, including the individuals supported by The Arc Rockland and their families, local business and community leaders and public officials. Join us for a recreational walk around Rockland Lake, proudly wearing an Arc Rockland t-shirt provided with your registration.
A Taste of Rockland
- A Taste of Rockland is a culinary extravaganza featuring innovative and delicious appetizers, entrees, desserts, and libations from local establishments, held at the Hilton Pearl River
- Over 300 attendees include business executives, public officials, community leaders, disability advocates, families and friends of The Arc Rockland.
- 2024 marks the 29th anniversary of A Taste of Rockland and the 70th anniversary of The Arc Rockland. Join us to celebrate our legacy and milestones over the last seven decades and our aspirations for continued impact.
